Today at lunch time I was taking some photos of Olive eating when Elsie said "Do Elsie, do Elsie!" and started posing for the camera. It's the first time she's done that...she's always wanted to HAVE the camera previously. Strike a pose!
With the birth of Elsie in January 2011 Joel and I decided to take 9 months out to spend as a family in New Zealand. This blog will follow what we get up to while we are down under. There won't be any hilarious adventures or witty prose. Expect the mundane with the ordinary - a detailed recording of the minutiae of our domesticity. This blog is for us, for posterity and those of you currently far away wondering how we are getting on. If it's details you're after – you’ve come to the right place!

I've been trying to get Elsie used to sleeping in her new bed. The rules are:
• must wear her sleep sack
• no toys
• no playing
• lie down
• close eyes
• sleep
If she breaks the rules she goes in her cot. Today I left her to settle then when I went to check I found that she had taken Olive's Snowsuit and was trying to put it on. She'd done a pretty good job! But she still ended up in the cot!
Today at lunch Elsie made a shape out of ham then declared it....a Christmas Tree!
Then she ate it. Delicious!
Today we picked up the two wee beds I had bought from Royal Tunbridge Wells. They are delightful and Elsie was very excited! We had our first BBQ of the season today. Lovely weather. Delectable company. At Simon and Deanna's. Just lovely. Feeling a bit sad
Xx
With two feet! Not sure if this video captures the two footed jump but this was the moment it occurred. After MONTHS of a weirdy gallopy thing we finally have proper jumping. Olive thought it was most entertaining too.
