This week Elsie started her first swimming lessons. She is going to the Mt Albert Aquatic Centre with her friend Rosa. Her group is called 'The Hatchlings'.
The lesson went really well - none of the babies cried. The instructor was really good and I liked the sequence of the class. At the moment we are singing lots of songs while doing various activities and zooming the babies through the water. Over the 10 week course we will repeat these songs but gradually introduce new things like splashing water, fountains, and eventually we will submerge the wee ones under the water. Yikes Elsie!
So far so good. Unfortunately it's not allowed to take photos in the pool : (
With the birth of Elsie in January 2011 Joel and I decided to take 9 months out to spend as a family in New Zealand. This blog will follow what we get up to while we are down under. There won't be any hilarious adventures or witty prose. Expect the mundane with the ordinary - a detailed recording of the minutiae of our domesticity.
