Ear Worm

It may be typical of all new parents I expect but I routinely have a song (usually a nursery rhyme) just going round and around in my head. Today it was the 'Taniwha' song. Sung to the tune of "You Are My Sunshine" Joel and I have decided the lyrics are as follows (we just make them up as we have poor memories..):

One day a Taniwha
Went swimming in the moana
He whispered in my taringa

Wont you come along with me
There's just so much to see
Underneath the deep blue sea

But I said 'no no no'
Taniwha you'd better go go go
Although I think we could be friends

My Mother's waiting for me
Underneath the Kowhai tree
Taniwha, Haere Ra

Then of course...

Tahi, Rua, Toru, Wha....HE!
